LINCOLN WAS CORRECT!

Letter To The Times Editor 11/21/2007
Re: 'Murtha: We can't win militarily' by Miller

Defeatist like Rep. Murtha of Pennsylvania have been around forever with the same old tired, 'we can't win' song and dance. We heard the same propaganda at Chancellorsville, Belleau Wood, Omaha Beach, Kasserine Pass, Chosin, and Tet. The nay sayers crawl out from under the rocks to hedge their bets just in case. As a military man Rep. Murtha is well aware of the damage his vitriol is doing to our troops and allies. His willful behavior is at best retreat in face of the enemy and at worst, treason.

I believe it was Abraham Lincoln who once said of his Northern Congressman, 'for a member of the government to commit any act that would cast doubt on our troops or lower their morale he should be arrested, exiled, or hanged'. Be it rail or rope, writ or warrant, the likes of John P. Murtha must be removed from the American political landscape. There are enough cowards in Congress as it is.

YOU CAN FOOL SOME OF THE PEOPLE ALL OF THE TIME

Letter to The Times Editor 10/5/07 'Leggett touts aid by county to illegals' (LoBianco)

Big Ike Leggett proclaiming himself as 'enlightened' is like UCal Berkley claiming to be open minded. Like his predecessor Doug Duncan, Big Ike is nothing more than a pandering politician of prodigious pomposity. He cares nothing for the thoughts and safety of his constituency. He has openly confessed to aiding an abetting criminal conduct. He is part and parcel of what, in my opinion, is nothing more than an ongoing criminal enterprise orchestrated by foreign governments to gain financial reward through criminal activity. I do not know what Ike calls it in his nirvana world, but here will call it organized crime.

Prince William County, Virginia as well as many others across the nation is responding to a clear and present danger at the request of its citizens and legal residents. Here in the Republic of Montgomery County the clear and present danger is from those in the county executive's office. My own home in the City of Gaithersburg must choose to continue to rubber stamp Montgomery County's policies or choose to fight such illegal activity. I choose to fight. Virginia is the mother of eight Presidents. Montgomery County is the hangout for wannabe 'kings'.

Fight Ike! Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow.

FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS

I had the pleasure to attend the Mayor's work session on September 24. It was a very enjoyable and informative event, then cam the time to present the details about the clock tower for Old Town. The presentation was quite well done and would have been fine but for the fact that the Council was staring at this model like a heard of deer in high beams. I was surprised since this project is over a decade old. The looks on their faces and the objections they shared should have been enough to send this idea to its just reward. When questioned by members of the audience the Council members suddenly voiced total support for the project and were soon in lock step.

The project, to place a 65 foot clock and bell tower on the corner of Summit and Main seems a bit off the mark. This edifice would be placed on a postage stamp size location next to a plaza for all of our citizens to enjoy. The word plaza normally emotes the image of some grand place where citizens gather to enjoy the life of the city. This 'plaza' is hardly big enough on which to play street hockey. Where better to bring the wife and kids to relax...right next to the train tracks?

You want a clock tower and carillon? Then place it on the ground of City Hall along Summit so we can see it at a distance horizontally not just vertically. Better yet just donate the $1.4 mil plus to Wells-Robertson House. They seem to have the proper focus as to how to put our funds to better use.

DOUBLE DIGIT FAILURE

Dateline: Gaithersburg, Md 8/30/07

Recently The Gazette ran an article about the dismal drop in SAT scores in our schools. Anyone who can take solace from the article or see any form of a silver lining would have to be either a rabid social engineer or one of our county or city leaders. Now our county leaders will never find fault with the MCPS as they created the monster and continue to feed its ego. On the other hand our city leaders will not object for they believe that 'it is not their job'. Instead they continue to rubber stamp the erratic plans of Mr. Weast and Ike Leggett. Why is that?

In Montgomery County we are in the 'feel good' capital of the world. As Long as the students feels good about themselves then all is well. As long as the parents believe that being in an AP or Honors program really means what it used to then all is well. As long as our educators are muzzled by intimidation then all is well. When a student can answer only one question in one hundred and still receive a 50% score then all is not well. Here we thrive on graduation instead of education.

The Gazette ran a very nice story based on bean counter rationale and social engineer theories printed for general consumption. It would be more productive if our local media really investigated the situation instead of using its own form of rubber stamp.

Years ago Gaithersburg distributed a new t-shirt which focused on Gaithersburg as the 'heart of Montgomery County'. Maybe its time that we became the 'backbone' as well.

Keep on Trucking!

DATELINE: 8/18/07 The Washington Times

Mr. Bush plans to allow thousands of unsafe Mexican trucks to use America's superhighway system while generously allowing our trucks and drivers to traverse the moonscape of Mexico often frequented by bandits left over from the Villa era. Again Bush provides the long end of the stick to another banana republic while American workers get the shaft. The laughable bottom line to this farce is that our drivers will probably be hauling back the products from the factories and industries that Mr. Bush and Mr. Clinton presented to Mexico years ago. Ironic isn't it.

I am not surprised by Mr. Bush's conduct in this matter. He is the obedient servant of his patrons in Mexico City and has been since entering office. The big problem is with the American labor unions. Mr. Hoffa again seems to be all blow and no show. He rightly expresses his outrage at the prospects of illegal Mexican trucks hauling tons of illegal whatever to all parts of the country but he only talks. The Teamsters and other unions squawked when NAFTA reared its ugly head. They whined when their lack of effort in the BUY US program sent our textile industry to our friends further south. They sobbed when other industries headed south of the border. Hundreds of industries, thousands of industrial sites, and millions of American jobs have vanished while Union leaders collected fat paychecks and dined at the country club.

American labor unions could stop this plan in its tracks if it wanted. I wonder why is does nothing for the employees who pay its leaders salaries? Probably the same reason Bush does nothing for the people who pay his. Either bend over America....or stand up!

The Propaganda of Hate

DATELINE: ROCKVILLE, MD 8/1/07

Why is it that whenever Mr. Torres, of CASA, is questioned about his operations that the 'H' or 'R' word is used with such profusion. He finds fault with our Freedom of Information Act only when it is his information in question.

Recently the Help Save Maryland organization sought details as to the use of public funds dispersed to CASA with no strings attached. This, or any, group has an obligation to its constituents to find out how our tax dollars are spent and to make certain it is used to support legal operations. I hope that Mr. Torres would agree.

It does not surprise me that neither Big Ike Leggett nor his mouthpiece Mr. Lacefield cannot provide evidence of lawful activity and the proper use of my money by CASA or any organization that might come hat in hand for a public dole. If our County Executive cannot provide such answers then why do we have a county executive? Mr. Leggett, as his predecessor Doug Duncan, has put themselves above such things as accountability and credibility.

Mr. Leggett's perceived ignorance and Mr. Torres reaction would have me believe that our money has not been well spent. Is our money going to aid legal immigrants, as Mr. Torres claims, or did our dollars become a another payoff to unregistered agents of foreign governments?

Mr. Torres should by now understand that words like 'hate' and 'racists' are fast disappearing as a method of distraction. Words like these are used to hide the facts from public view. If Mr. Torres' books are in order then he has nothing to hide.

"Hail to the Chief"

DATELINE: WASHINGTON, D.C.
The jury will be out for several years as to the success or failure of Ms. Rhee as DC Chancellor, but to attack the bureaucracy in any metro school system is a plus in every parents book.

The layer upon layer of do-nothing bureaucrats has been based on nepotism and cronyism for decades and has made DC Schools a poster child for what never to do. Despite unbelievable sums of money the system performs far under what is needed to justify its existence to the community much less its service to the student body.

In the hunting community the old phrase applies. "Sometimes you get the bear and sometimes the bear gets you". Ms. Rhee must battle entrenched politicians who have rewarded constituents and friends with plum jobs in the school system. If she stands her ground and is supported by Mr. Fenty she will shake the halls of education not only in DC but in the surrounding jurisdictions as well. All of our systems are plagued by social engineers who have not a clue what to do. Until the teachers are again allowed to run the classrooms and the principals the schools we will have graduation not education. The end result is failure. If Mr. Fenty cuts and runs it will be a wasted effort for all.

Trust is a Many Splendored Thing

President Bush has come up with a new program to divert our attention from his inane 'amnesty' proposals for illegal aliens. When the President resorts to acts of desperation, such as doing what our citizens demand, it is embarrassing to the office and to the country.

After pushing one amnesty bill after another and rebuking the American people for their overwhelming opposition to illegal aliens, Mr. Bush now tries novel approach......doing what we told him to do years ago. He foolishly believes that his new antics will change the tide of opposition. No way, Jose! He even withdraws the National Guard from their posts along the Mexican Border while proposing this 'dramatic' new tact. There is nothing on God's green earth that Mr. Bush could propose or do at this point. The American people no longer have trust in their President. For too many years Mr. Bush has been a 'foreign president'. That will be his legacy.

NEA HITS A NEW LOW!

Recently the national leadership of the NEA, the National Endowment for Anarchy, gleefully told the world that its members overwhelmingly approved of our educational system accepting and educating illegal alien children. If you believe such a lie then I would like to sell you a ticket to the new Hanging Gardens of Babylon opening soon as a Disney Resort in Baghdad.

I have every reason to believe that the vast and overwhelmingly majority of educators in this country believe just the opposite. This is for certain yet you may never hear a complaint one from our dedicated teachers. Why you may ask? The answer is simple. For a teacher, say in The Republic of Montgomery County, to voice such an opinion would mean certain destruction of their career by the social engineers and County Administrators who sit like judges from the Spanish Inquisition ready to burn the heretics at the stake.

Twelve billion dollars of American taxpayer dollars is spent every year to educate illegal aliens in just the elementary and secondary levels. This is money that should be spent by any number of countries who have their own ongoing criminal enterprise to rip off the American taxpayer.

Montgomery County demands tens of millions of extra dollars each year for new school construction. Our County and City officials march in route step to approve such funds without a clue how it is being spent. Does this money go for Mr. Wheast $400 Italian Suits? Does it go to purchase additional white out so that illegal alien parents can white out the country of origins on their child's birth certificate prior to signing up for school in the Fall? Does it go to pay for unneeded portables or wasted on new buildings? Does it go to pay for two text for many students so that the poor darlings don't have to carry a book home? Can anyone prove that the book at home is ever used? How about we hold back those funds and spend them on the education of our legal immigrants and our Citizens?

The NEA is nothing more that a modern version of the Gestapo. Our teachers had best goose step to the right music or face life on the bread lines.

SU CASA ES MI CASA

I am always amused about the illegal alien front organizations and what real purpose they serve. I would have believed that if they had any real concern about their pawn like constituents they would be demonstrating in Mexico City, or Managua, or San Salvador. I hope it is obvious to all but the most blind Americans.

You would think these fifth column organizations would want to turn their anger on those who have kept them in poverty and despair for centuries....the Dons of Central America. Not a chance because money talks and peasants walk. Follow this idea if you will. Lets take Mexico....well how about you take Mexico.

1. The Mexican Government sees a plan to rid themselves of millions of its unwashed in what amounts to ethnic cleansing of its own people.

2. They organize a program to plan organize, control, and finance its migration across the border. They publish governmental literature instructing their citizens how to evade capture and establishing water stations throughout the American Southwest.

3. Using their Consular service within the United States they furnish admitted criminals with a consular ID card as if it was some sort of legal document. Information on contacts in various cities are provided so that forged United States documents can be obtained. It is not beyond reason to believe that Consular offices provide those documents as well.

4. Illegal alien front organizations, not unlike the Communist of the 1950's and 1960's have formed cells to hide their agents and press their propaganda efforts on naive Americans.

4. The Mexican Government, in not one instance, secures its side of the border but does turn a blind eye to Mules, drug cartels, gun runners, and Army deserters who roam the border as in the days of Villa. This is odd since the Mexican Army and Federal Police have sealed their Southern border to prevent aliens from Guatemala, Honduras, and other banana republics from crossing the Mexican Border. Documented events have numerous non-Mexicans being killed, robbed, beaten, and forced back across the border. The Mexican Government wants not a single non-Mexican to reach American soil. They would take Mexican illegal alien jobs.

But gee...Batman...? Why would these kind and peaceful people do such a thing? As always Robin it comes down to pesos. The Mexican Government's second largest source of revenue comes from the 50 billion dollars a year sent back by illegal aliens to their homeland. Without this illegal source of income the Mexican Government would actually have to spend some of the Don's money to support its own people. What a novel idea? Despite hundreds of major industries and millions of American jobs these guys just have no clue what to do. And do not want to.

Now if you connect the dots from A to B to C to D you have what is called an ongoing criminal enterprise directed against the United States. The Mexican Government uses illegal aliens to perform illegal acts for profit. Odd that Mr. Bush and Mr. Gonzales can't see that. Unfortunately Mr. Gonzales seems to be occupied at the moment and Mr. Bush is more Mexican than American.

America must understand that Mexico has been at war with the United States for one hundred and fifty years. These people have neither been friends or allies. The Zimmerman Telegram during WWI was just the tip of the iceberg. Outrageous comments by illegal alien leaders and their fifth column supporters in the Senate are proof positive that we are at war.

American troops need to be on the Mexican Border armed and ready to seal the border to all Mexican commerce. Our brave Secretary of State needs to stop playing in the Middle East and start protecting this country from our "friends" not our enemies. Mexico must secure its own Northern Border or suffer hostile action. If we need to cross the border to wipe out the militias and cartels then so be it. Better to fight in Mexico City than Baghdad.

The Democrats in the Senate wish to impeach Mr. Bush for lying. How about for treason?

STUFF HAPPENS

Dateline: Gaithersburg, Maryland July 26, 2007 (Washington Times)

As is often the case in the illegal alien crisis, protests occur as at the Derwood Day Labor Center. Such protest are not in the best interest of the community. One of the protesters against this facility put it plainly when he said that 'he did not want to be doing this but.....' This citizen should not be doing it. Why stand on the corner in front of a tax payer paid trailer, in the heat, arguing with a group of people who have no idea of what you are saying and care not if they could. More people were protesting than actually use this site on a daily basis. Why not hop down to the county office building in Rockville and stand in a cool taxpayer paid corridor and protest Big Ike Leggett and his band of fifth column politicians who allowed this to happen in the first place. Actually we allowed it to happen by voting blindly or not voting at all.

Leggett, like his predecessor, Doug Duncan will not react until you go nose to nose with them. Confront the politician! By mail, email, Pony Express, or whatever, campaign directly against those responsible. Let them know that your vote will go to those who obey the law and do not aid and abet an ongoing criminal enterprise planned, organized, controlled, and financed by foreign governments.

Voice your support for the legal immigrant who forms the bedrock of our country. Denounce illegal alien front operations who insult our legal residents by including them with illegals. Why protest some poor soul who has no idea why he is here? He is just some pawn in the hate propaganda mill run by activist groups and other agents of foreign governments. Put the heat on Big Ike as well as local city officials. Stuff happens......but only if you let it.

Stand with us who honor our legal immigrant roots!

GRADUATION OR EDUCATION

The Montgomery Country School System touts itself as being one of the best in the nation. A term like 'best' can be very subjective. Enough self adulation by the Superintendent and the School Board can place 'best' in a whole new category. Maybe we are just the 'best' of the worst.

Maybe it is time that local officials end their 'It's not my job' mindset and take a closer look at what could be going on within the schools in Gaithersburg. Yes, legally, it is the County responsibility to educate Gaithersburg's future leaders. Does that mean that our elected officials should not stand up and ask questions other than 'when's lunch'? I just want to make sure that we are not being sold a bill of goods for services not performed. No longer should our City Council rubber stamp the 'party line' handed down by Jerry Weast and Big Ike Leggett. Who died and made them king?

As a substitute teacher for almost eight years I have had the opportunity to observe the frustration of teachers in a number of schools. Sitting in the staff lounge or just walking through the halls one can get a picture of what is facing our educators and school administrators. Once in the classroom the picture is more focused. It is evident to me that graduation not education is the focal point with our Socialist school board and their social engineering bean counters whose educational backgrounds are in question. I understand that our own Superintendent has only spent 2 years actually standing before a class. I have been asked each year why I have not become certified to be a full time educator. I answer them the same way each time. I would personally rather walk ten miles of hard scrabble road on my knees than face the hardships placed on our educators and administrators by the MCPS. I love the students more than anything but admire our educators and adminstrators above all careers.

My father was and educator for 28 years. He would not approve of the conditions under which our educators work today. Today, by mandate, our educators have to be social workers, paper shufflers, file keepers, minister, rabbi, priest, mother, father, and baby sitter. Lost in this new job description is the title 'TEACHER'. Cookie cutter curriculum, a grading system from California no less, expensive text many not used, old equipment, lack of class control are but a few of the road blocks placed before our educators even before they step foot inside a classroom.

Did you know that if a student gets one answer correct out of one hundred questions the lowest grade possible is a 50%? Is this the new math of the MCPS? Is this a formular for real success?

Did you know that work not turned in on time yet turned in sometime during the grading quarter can receive no less than a C in grade? Does this conduct seem average to you?

Did you know that this year by mandate if a students grade come close to the next grading level that the grade must be rounded up? What message does this send to the student?

Did you know that our teachers are directed to find students within the regular level of classes to push into Honors and Advanced Placement? Wouldn't it be nice if one had to qualify by GPA to enter a higher level class? All schools will have a group of superlative students but today AP is more like Honors ten years ago. Honors is more like regular.

Did you know that as many as 50% of MCPS juniors attempting to take classes at Montgomery College as seniors cannot past the English/Math placement test? What does that say about the strength of our curriculum and the intensity at which it can be taught?

Our City Council is aware of these facts. I wonder when they will say something?

Our students only desire one thing, honesty from the school system. They want to be treated equally and fairly. If you tell our students exactly what is expected of them in class performance and the ramifications of something less I feel certain they will rise to the occasion and achieve. If you tell our students, as is now the case, that mediocrity is acceptable, that accountability is non-existent, and that graduation is guaranteed regardless if you can read or write a cogent paragraph they will gravitate to the lowest common denominator.

It is past time that the City Council confront the MCPS and demand proof of excellence rather than the rose colored glasses approach of the social engineer. Our city needs to investigate this perceived performance as it would any other investment. I believe our children are worth it. There is an old saying in accounting that 'figures don't lie, but liars can figure'. I want to be certain that the credits and debits balance.
